FAQ¶
Why do some pages fail during a scan?¶
A page can time out or fail to save its results (a slow server, a heavy page, a momentary glitch). Those pages are listed in the scan log and can be re-run with Retry failed pages.
Do I need to keep the tab open during a full-site scan?¶
Yes. The scan runs in your browser tab. Leaving the page cancels it; use Pause if you need to stop and continue later.
Why does another tool show a different number of issues?¶
Tools use different rule sets and group issues differently. A11yScanFix uses axe-core and counts one rule failure as one issue. Your enabled standards and ignored rules also change the total.
Why doesn't "Issues Found" drop the moment I turn on fixers?¶
Fixers change your live site, but the dashboard reflects the last scan. Re-scan to see the new numbers.
Does scanning send my data anywhere?¶
No. Scanning runs entirely in your browser. AI alt text is the only feature that contacts an outside service - the AI provider you chose, with your own key.
Can it fix everything automatically?¶
No. Automated fixes handle common, well-defined problems. Some issues (like colour contrast choices or meaningful content order) need human judgement.
How many sites does a Pro licence cover?¶
One site, billed yearly. Need more? Multi-site / volume licensing is available - see the pricing page.
How is Pro delivered?¶
After you buy through Freemius you get an email with the Pro zip and your licence key (also in your Freemius account). Install the zip alongside the free plugin and enter the key. See Installation.
Can I get a refund?¶
Yes - Pro is sold through Freemius with a money-back guarantee. If it is not a fit, request a refund from your Freemius account.
What happens if I do not renew Pro?¶
Nothing breaks. Pro features switch off and the plugin reverts to Free until you renew. Your renewal price stays locked at your original rate.
How do I get support?¶
Free users have community support. Pro includes email support, with a reply usually within 1-2 business days (Monday to Friday).
Is AI alt text really free?¶
The scanner and AI alt text are part of the free plugin. Alt text uses your own AI API key, so you only pay your provider - and Mistral has a free tier that works well for this.
